This post is going to be about Las Vegas, my adopted hometown. I was born and raised in Northern California. I’ve lived here since 2004, and I’ve seen and done so much. I graduated college, I’ve fallen in love, I’ve lost family pets, my immediate family grew, I’ve gained family pets, I moved away for graduate school, I came back, and not all in that order. It’s really one of my favorite places in the world. I don’t think there’s any place else I’d rather live right now, but I’m sure that’ll change.
Most people think Vegas is only the Strip, and while there’s plenty to see and do there for sure, there’s so much enjoy off the Strip.
One of my favorite places to take people is Red Rock Canyon. It’s a beautiful piece of nature. Another great place is the Mob Museum. I visited there last year with my best friend, take a look at the write-up I did.
My favorite theater is Regal Downtown Summerlin, because it has selectable reclining seats, awesome drinks.
I think we have an awesome library system. You can request books from different branches, and have them delivered to your preferred branch, to be picked up at your leisure. Our library events are fun too. We have art galleries in most of the libraries as well.
The freeway system is atrocious. This meme says it all:
Our school system leaves something to be desired.
But, compared to the cost of living of other big cities, Vegas is far more palatable to a broke-ass creative soul like me.
Where’s your favorite place in the world? Tell me in the comments.
